In a CSR initiative, Siemens has tied up with local healthcare
providers to give employees in the UAE the opportunity to support the
country’s current drive for blood donations.
Siemens employees in the UAE Wednesday and Thursday
lined up to participate in a blood donation campaign in coordination
with Dubai’s Latifa Hospital and Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Khalifa Medical
City. Held at Siemens’ Dubai office at The Galleries in Downtown Jebel
Ali on February 29 and in Abu Dhabi on March 1, the initiative is in
line with the company’s commitment to engage actively in the communities
it is involved in. “The blood drive truly was a success and I am
pleased with the positive response we got from our employees,” said
Guenter Baumgartner, Siemens head of corporate communications in the
Middle East. “Today’s number of donors actually exceeded our
expectations and we had to end the activity earlier than planned.”
