Siemens signs USD38 million contract with Qatar Steel for high-voltage substation
Under the terms of the contract Siemens is responsible for the design, engineering, construction, testing and commissioning the new substation, including the supply of power transformers, switchgear and protection and telecommunication systems, and the associated civil engineering and construction works.

Siemens has a long-standing relationship with SEC, and has previously completed a number of power transmission and distribution projects in the Kingdom, including Qassim-2 BSP, PP-9 and PP-10. Active in the country for more than 80 years con-tributing expertise, technology and knowhow from each of the company's main sec-tors, Siemens technology currently transmits and distributes a third of the power used in the Kingdom.
