Siemens signs service agreement for Baiji power plant in Iraq

The upgrades include the major overhauls of the SGT5-2000E turbines with state-of-the-art Siemens’ 3-dimensional blades and vanes (Si3D). The integration of the Siemens Si3D blades and vanes provides the Baiji Gas Power Plant with optimal technical and economic benefits.
“As the development of Iraq’s long-term energy infrastructure gathers pace, it is increasingly important that the country’s power-producing assets are performing optimally,” said Karim Amin, Head of Siemens Energy Service in the Middle East. “This latest agreement at the Baiji gas power plant will deliver a solution that increases the efficiency and reliability of the facility, while additionally reducing its emissions and the lifecycle costs of the plant.”
