Siemens showcases innovations to address Iraq’s power needs

As Iraq seeks to rebuild its power infrastructure, Siemens is demonstrating its capabilities in the power supply and services sectors at the largest exhibition hosted by the Ministry of Electricity in Iraq for the 4th consecutive year. Held at Baghdad International Fair, the Iraq Energy Exhibition runs from April 17th to 20th. Siemens is highlighting its innovative products, services and technologies aimed at meeting the country’s different requirements and help it overcome obstacles to implementing electricity projects. At its booth, the company displays technology for efficient, reliable and safe electricity transmission and distribution for modern electricity networks, powered by digital innovations.
“We have been operating in Iraq for decades and are continuously looking at ways to support the country’s requirements for adequate power supply. With large highly efficient, combined cycle power plants, we can build state-of-the-art infrastructure that powers cities and provides millions with reliable power supply. However, we also have the capabilities to supply power fast with easy and quick to install mobile solutions,” said Jeff Dunlap, Senior Executive Vice President for Power & Gas in the Middle East at Siemens.
Last year, Siemens signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government of the Republic of Iraq to strengthen the collaboration with the Ministry of Energy as well as Ministry of Oil & Gas for modernizing the energy infrastructure and the Oil & Gas sector. Under the agreement, Siemens and the Government of Iraq developed a power generation and grid infrastructure masterplan.
