Siemens to showcase technology for efficient and reliable power networks at GCC Power
Highlights from Siemens will include the company’s fixed-mounted circuit-breaker 8DA-10 switchgear, designed for use in transformer and switching substations across a wide range of industries. Also on show, the Siemens 8DQ1-6 gas-insulated high-voltage switchgear is a new generation of switchgear noted for a high degree of versatility provided by its modular design. Both systems have been designed for operation in regions with adverse ambient conditions, such as high levels of dust and humidity.
The company’s Smart Grid division will also be showcasing a new benchmark for protection, automation, control and monitoring of transmission grids - SIPROTEC5. Designed for the protection of systems and employees, the SIPROTEC 5 family of field devices enable full data security and transparency throughout the entire lifecycle of the system, additionally saving time and reducing costs. Siemens is also displaying Wide Area Monitoring Systems [WAMS] such as the SIGURAD PDP software as well as a simulation kit of the Distribution Feeder Automation technology.
