Siemens to showcase digital innovations for power at Oman Energy and Water Exhibition

With digitalization driving a transformational shift across the power and water industry, Siemens will be showcasing an array of innovative technologies in the fields of power generation and services; digital solutions as well as industrial and automation software at the Oman Energy and Water Exhibition and Conference. The company will have leading executives discussing how digitalization and innovations in technology are making the power and water industry more affordable, efficient and reliable – focusing on how Siemens’ digital solutions can help the sector reduce costs and enhance operational efficiency.
In keeping with the large amounts of data, produced by hardware and different processes in the energy and water industry, Siemens’ digital solutions portfolio enables customers to collect and convert data into real-time knowledge for faster and smarter decision-making. Siemens’ powerful software solutions optimize performance across the electricity value chain – from automated process analysis to seamless data integration, remote monitoring and preventive maintenance.
“Big data is transforming the power and water industry into a digitally driven and intelligent ecosystem. With billions of devices and machines generating massive amounts of data every day, embracing and thriving through this change will require new intelligent technologies and services to capture and analyze this data to turn them into a real value,” said Markus-Erich Strohmeier, CEO of Siemens in Oman. "We are committed to offering our customers in Oman the new business opportunities they need to be more competitive and achieve their efficiency, sustainability and environmental goals.”
At 1:15 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017, the first day of the fair, Ziad Al-Sati, Vice President of Control and Digitalization in the Middle East, Siemens Power Generation Services Division, will be explaining the main aspects of Siemens digital services and how they can help customers drive unprecedented levels of availability and reliability. On Tuesday, May 2, at 10:00 a.m., Karim Mousa, Regional Business Development Manager in the Middle East, Siemens Power and Gas Division, will be presenting the rising challenges in the global energy market, as well as discussing sustainable and innovative solutions for Oman's conventional energy sector.
Siemens has been operating in Oman since 1972. Today, the company’s technology is responsible for generating over 50 per cent of Oman’s electricity capacity, in addition to its role in enabling the Sultanate to significantly conserve its natural resources by reducing gas consumption in the power generation industry. Siemens has also supplied a significant proportion of the country’s power transmission and distribution equipment to support the growing demand for energy in Oman.
The Oman Energy and Water Exhibition and Conference is a platform for stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities in the energy and water sector in Oman. The event also gives leading professionals the chance to discuss ways of improving collaboration between the public and private sectors to realize the Sultanate’s future energy plans.
