Ceer, Saudi Arabia’s first electric vehicle (EV) brand, will be entering into new directed sourcing agreements with third party line builders and contractors and Siemens for an advanced automation system for its manufacturing facility in King Abdullah Economic City. This collaboration will redefine automotive manufacturing in Saudi Arabia and will enhance the Kingdom’s economic growth, with projections of an additional US$8 billion to Saudi Arabia’s GDP by 2034.
The core element of the agreements involves integrating Siemens Digital Industries’ solutions to ensure streamlined digitalization and automation within Ceer’s operations. As part of the commitment to knowledge-sharing, Siemens will offer an extensive training program for 100 engineers at Ceer. This initiative will cultivate local expertise, familiarizing them with Siemens’ advanced technologies, and will help to develop a competent workforce ready to spearhead innovation in the automotive sector.

Siemens opened Egypt's first Smart Cities Experience
Center, offering customers an immersive experience that combines real and
digital worlds. The center showcases the latest technologies for creating
sustainable and efficient smart city infrastructure, buildings, and industries.
It is located at Siemens in Egypt’s head office in Cairo.
The Smart Cities Experience Center aims to provide a
rich experience based on real project experience, ensuring successful smart
city realization. Under this concept, visitors can understand the benefits of
transforming current communities into smart cities. They can also observe the
latest smart infrastructure technologies for buildings and cities, including
low-voltage to medium-voltage electrification, energy management, intelligent
power distribution solutions, and SCADA systems for utilities management such
as water, gas, and electricity.

Artificial Intelligence Center for Energy (AICE), are developing artificial
intelligence (AI) solutions for the Kingdom’s power sector

AURAK will benefit from 21% lower electricity
bills, and 15% lower water bills, equivalent to around AED 900,000 saved
each year, while cutting its annual carbon emissions by 700 tons

Siemens has partnered with the American University of Ras Al Khaimah
(AURAK) to help the university reduce expenses and curtail carbon emissions as
it educates a future generation of leaders.
A part of the collaboration, Siemens will be retrofitting the air
conditioning, ventilation, lighting and hot water systems and install water
conservation equipment and advanced energy controls across 19 buildings at the
AURAK campus. These measures will save the university around AED 900,000
annually which will be guaranteed under Siemens' leading performance assurance
program.

The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Energy and
Infrastructure (MoEI), Audi Middle East, and Siemens signed an agreement to
cooperate on boosting electric vehicle (EV) charging capacity on federal roads
and increasing adoption of EVs across the country.
The agreement follows MoEI’s selection in June of
Siemens technology for a nationwide network of ultra-fast chargers. The
discussions with Audi are expected to expand on this initiative as part of the
brand’s ambitious infrastructure investment plans across the UAE.

Siemens will deploy the Middle East's first microgrid designed for industrial use, enabling Qatar Solar Energy (QSE) to reduce electricity costs, curb carbon emissions and benefit from a more stable power supply.
The microgrid at QSE's factory in Doha will comprise a mix of energy sources -- the local grid, solar panels, battery storage, back-up generators and cooling system. Generating as much as 1 megawatts from the sun, the hybrid network will enable QSE to trim its electricity bills by maximizing use of solar power and storing energy in batteries to satisfy on-peak demand.

Siemens and Desert Technologies have launched a joint venture to develop and invest in solar and smart infrastructure in Africa, the Middle East and Asia, as announced today at Expo 2020 Dubai. The venture, Capton Energy – which aims to build up a portfolio of investments in projects with an aggregate capacity of more than 1 gigawatts (GW) – will support projects providing clean, reliable, and affordable energy in areas that need it most.
The Saudi British Bank
(SABB) has signed an agreement with Siemens to provide smart building
services for SABB’s new headquarters, making the 30-storey tower a model
of digitally enabled efficiency, comfort, and sustainability.
SABB selected Siemens to
supply the services at SABB Tower in Riyadh.The Siemens solution includes
a workplace experience platform with an employee app, an Internet of
Things (IoT) sensor network, systems integration and energy analytics. The agreement supports SABB’s aspirations of becoming a fully digitally enabled bank, making operations at SABB Tower more efficient and enhancing employees’ productivity and well-being. The end result will be an employee-centric and energy-efficient design that can become a model for other buildings in the Kingdom.
