Siemens Ltd. Seoul to introduce latest technologies to lead the future of electric power industry at BIXPO 2018

SLS will be exhibiting excellent products and solutions in the electric power, gas, power generation and energy management sectors that respond to the digitalization trend at the Energy Transition Zone within the New Technology Exhibition. Its major exhibits include ▲ latest next-generation HL-class gas turbine SGT-9000HL, ▲ digital solutions for power plant efficiency improvement, ▲ 170kV eco-friendly vacuum interrupter (VI), ▲ cloud-based open IoT operating system MindSphere, ▲ IoT-based smart substation and asset management system, ▲ Easy, reliable and cost-efficient power monitoring solution, ▲ Ruggedcom solution for uninterrupted smart grid networks and ▲eco-friendly Vacuum Generator Circuit Breaker Panel.
The world’s first 170kV eco-friendly VI, which will be showcased during this exhibition, is a core component of eco-friendly gas insulated switchgears (GIS). Product development and test analysis of the VI have already been completed - coming to fruition in just two months after SLS joined hands with Iljin Electric for the developement of the 170kV eco-friendly GIS in June. The existing GIS is filled with Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6), which has a higher global warming potential than carbon dioxide. However, by applying SLS’ latest technologies, the emission of any green-house gases from GIS will be completely avoided.
SLS, in order to provide stable network support in conjunction with the latest trends in industrial IoT and smart grid, will introduce an IEC 62439-3-based network redun-dancy system and solution; parallel redundancy protocol (PRP); and high availability seamless redundancy (HSR). This year’s exhibition marks the first time that SLS has presented PRP and HSR to the domestic electric power industry.“SLS aims to offer new business opportunities that will lead the digitalization of the electric power industry with its innovative and eco-friendly technical skills and integ-rity,” said HaJoong Chung, Vice President of Energy Management Division at SLS. “With SLS, industries will be able to see the latest trends in innovative technologies as well as the direction for convergence.”
The latest next-generation HL-class gas turbine SGT-9000HL will also be showcased, continuing from the last year’s exhibition. With high generating efficiency and reliability, the HL-class gas turbine is a key facility for combined cycle power plants, using natural gas as the main fuel.
"We are confident that the next-generation HL-class gas turbine will maximize gen-erating efficiency and profitability,” said BumJun Suk, Vice President of the Power and Gas Division at SLS. “With efficient energy and digital development solutions, SLS will continue its efforts to drive mutual growth and mutual exchange with domestic businesses that have outstanding industrial infrastructures.”
BIXPO 2018 will consist of the New Technology Exhibition, International Invention Fair, International Conference and Energy Leaders Summit, conducted simultaneously with more than 280 local and international companies participating. The SLS booth will be located at A32 in Exhibition Hall 1 on the first floor of the Kimdaejung Convention Center, Gwangju.
