With the company’s ‘The NANUM’
volunteer corps, Siemens Korea has conducted various volunteer activities every
year since 2013, including delivering charcoal briquettes, cleaning the local
environment, and serving free meals for needy neighborhoods. The NANUM corps has
also conducted the ‘Delivery of Daily Necessities’ campaign since 2017, participating
in the whole process from packing to delivering the aid kits. This year,
however, for the first time the program will be conducted in a contactless way without
on-site participation of employees to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The kits containing
precooked instant rice, side dishes, ready-to-cook food, and personal
sanitation products such as alcohol tissues will be delivered to around 230 underprivileged
households including the elderly living alone.
Mr. ChewKong Lum, President
and CEO of Siemens Korea, said, “To support neighbors left unattended in the lingering
coronavirus pandemic, we decided to carry out a non-contact volunteer activity while
complying with the health and safety regulations. Siemens Korea will continue
to fulfill social responsibilities as a responsible company growing together with
our local community.”
