This year’s Siemens exhibition at SIMTOS 2024 was held under the theme of ‘Accelerate Transformation for a Sustainable Tomorrow’. Siemens unveiled its various industrial metaverse solutions that solve manufacturing issues through virtual reality and technologies needed from the perspectives of equipment manufacturers and users. The company showcased digital technology-based developments in machine tools and production equipment, including its comprehensive software portfolio ‘MACHINUM’ and globally validated SINUMERIK 828D ‘PPU.5’ and ‘PU272.5’ controllers.
Siemens also presented a diverse on-site participatory exhibition with features such as Industrial Metaverse experiences, Siemens’ digital twin machining program ‘RunMyVirtual Machine’ experience zone, and events to enhance understanding of the ‘MACHINUM’ concept, attracting the attention of visitors.
Meanwhile, on April 2, Siemens participated in the Global Digital Manufacturing Innovation Conference. Stephanie Frank, Head of Machine Tool Systems at Siemens AG, presented on the topic of ‘The Future of the Machine Tool Industry and the Role of Digital Twins’, while TaeHo Kim, Director of Digital Industries at Siemens Korea, delivered a lecture on ‘Digital Twins and Sustainable Portfolios’.
KwangHee Baek, Head of Motion Control Business Unit for Digital Industries at Siemens Korea, said, “At this year's SIMTOS exhibition, we introduced technologies selected from Siemens’ innovative solutions presented at EMO 2023 held in Hannover last year, which are suitable for challenges faced by the domestic industry. Siemens will continue to actively support domestic customers by offering ways to proactively respond to rapidly changing industrial environments.”
