Siemens Korea conducts 'Forest Restoration ESG Campaign' to create a habitat for bees and ecological forests
The campaign was hosted by the Korean Red Cross and the Korea Forest
Service to restore forest ecosystems in the Civilian Control Line area, where
soil is being lost due to the climate crisis. The program was designed to carry
out various environmental maintenance activities such as planting native
species to create an ecological forest of about 1ha within the National Center
of Forest Education in Chuncheon. Apart from Siemens employees including Mr.
HaJoong Chung, President and CEO of Siemens Korea, a total of 250 participants
from other sponsoring companies took part in the campaign.
Mr. HaJoong Chung, President and CEO of Siemens Korea, said, "As the
awareness of ecosystem preservation and climate change response grows more
every day, Siemens Korea employees have made a humble contribution to preserve
the ecosystem and biodiversity. Siemens Korea will continue to actively
participate in ESG activities in various ways to practice sustainability, which
is the foundation of Siemens' business."
Siemens Korea made a donation worth KRW 10 million to the Korean Red Cross
for this ESG Campaign, to contribute to the preservation of the environment and
build a sustainable ecosystem for future generations. Siemens Korea has also
