This year’s Siemens exhibit at Hannover Messe 2024 was held under the theme “Accelerate Transformation” with a huge 2,500m2 exhibition space – the tradeshow’s largest booth. Siemens introduced core technologies for digital transformation in the key industry sectors including automotive, food & beverage, chemicals, and semiconductors, presenting how proven, cutting-edge technology and strong partnerships enable industries to become both more sustainable and more competitive. The focus was on applications such as AI-enabled machine vision and Siemens Industrial Copilot with Microsoft and Schaeffler.
Siemens presented the first generative artificial intelligence (AI) product, the “Siemens Industrial Copilot” for engineering. It will enable industrial customers of all sizes to harness the power of generative AI to transform their operations, with the ultimate goal of addressing major challenges, such as the shortage of skilled workers or making industrial production more efficient and sustainable. With the generative AI-powered assistant, engineering teams can significantly reduce time, effort, and the probability of errors. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of the Schaeffler Group, visited Siemens’ booth to experience the transformative power of generative AI firsthand. Siemens and Schaeffler also signed a memorandum of understanding to expand their joint work on Siemens Industrial Copilot. The Siemens Industrial Copilot will be available for download from the open digital business platform “Siemens Xcelerator” marketplace starting in summer 2024.
As another part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, Siemens introduced “Electrification X” for the first time. Built on highly scalable cloud services, Electrification X is designed to manage, optimize, and automate the challenged electrification infrastructure of commercial, industrial, and utility customers. The aim is to improve efficiency and performance while reducing costs and CO2 emissions.
Furthermore, Siemens showcased the recently launched “Siemens EcoTech”, a company-wide self-certification label designed to help customers make a more sustainable choice by showing transparent product data and performance. Products with the label have been assessed against a set of criteria, across three key dimensions, reflecting the entire product lifecycle: sustainable materials, optimal use, and value recovery & circularity. Today all Siemens EcoTech products are manufactured in production facilities using 100 percent renewable electricity, contributing to the company’s overall ambition to achieve a net zero-carbon footprint of its production facilities and buildings worldwide by 2030.
During the trade show, the stage program featured more than 150 speakers including members of the Siemens AG Managing Board along with experts, customers, and partners, who shared industry insights and inspirational success stories. Especially on April 22, Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG, and Rev Lebaredian, Vice President of Omniverse and Simulation Technology at NVIDIA, discussed the AI-powered industrial metaverse at the Siemens booth, capturing the interest of attendees. More than 300 guided tours and exclusive meetings with over 500 industry experts engaged a broad audience of visitors.
HaJoong Chung, President and CEO of Siemens Korea, said, “It was a great opportunity for Siemens to showcase our cutting-edge software and hardware solutions at Hannover Messe 2024, which are at the forefront of the current global industry trends including AI, carbon neutrality, and energy management. With our innovative technologies and solutions such as Siemens Xcelerator as a steppingstone, we will continue to do our best to achieve sustainable growth together with our customers.”
Tino Hildebrand, Executive Vice President Siemens Korea and Head of Siemens Digital Industries Korea said, “This year, Siemens commands attention as a leader in sustainable digital transformation, showcasing cutting-edge technologies. Our flagship offerings, including the Siemens Industrial Copilot, Industrial Metaverse, and Siemens Xcelerator, represent a significant milestone in our journey. In a little over a year, we've seamlessly integrated AI and digital twin functionalities into vital tools for predictive maintenance. As we advance towards sustainable future, our commitment to supporting Korean customers remains steadfast. We're swiftly deploying these technologies to meet their evolving challenges.”
