Seoul·SLS) ‘The NANUM’ volunteer corps served meals at the Seoul Senior Welfare Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on September 7. A global powerhouse in electrical engineering and electronics leading the age of digitalization, Siemens Korea (Siemens Ltd. Seoul·SLS) ‘The NANUM’ volunteer corps served meals at the Seoul Senior Welfare Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on September 7. Mr. ChewKong Lum, President and CEO (acting) of SLS, and about 40 SLS employees prepared and served Beef and Octopus Hotpots as an energy boosting dish for 3,000 elderly people.
The NANUM was launched in January 2013 to encourage all SLS employees to participate in volunteer activities at least once a year. Activities include distributing charcoal briquettes, performing clean-up operations, delivering daily necessities and serving meals to the needy and more. On this day, as part of the ‘Day of Filial Duty Practice’ event, The NANUM made a donation of KRW 10 million to Seoul Senior Welfare Center and provided 3,000 dishes of nourishing food to the elderly exhausted by the heat wave during the summer.
Mr. ChewKong Lum, President and CEO of Siemens Ltd. Seoul, said, “We hope that the meals prepared and served by SLS employees today will support the nutrition and health management of the elderly. By aligning our business activities with the interest of the generations of today and tomorrow, we will continue to fulfill our responsibilities to the environment and society as a whole, showing strong contribution to the local community through active participation in Corporate Citizenship Programs.”
