Dieter Schletterer lectures at ‘Global Industry Showference 2018’

Mr. Dieter Schletterer, Vice President of Digital Factory and Process Industries & Drives Division (DF/PD) of Siemens Ltd. Seoul (SLS), gave a lecture under the topic ‘Smart Factory empowered by 5G’ at the ‘Global Industry Showference 2018’, held at Shilla Hotel on October 24. The ‘Global Industry Showference’ marked its 6th anniversary in 2018 and was hosted by Korea Economic Daily TV and sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Technology Information and Communication(MSIT).

According to the theme of the year - ‘Infinite Connection, 5G future industry map’, participants shared various opinions regarding the 5G technology, which Korea will firstly commercialize it in the world in March 2019. During the lecture, Mr. Schletterer explained “By 2020, machine to machine communication will be realized through 5G and this can strengthen the manufacturing industry.” Mr. Schletterer also added why 5G is important for manufacturing sites while introducing Siemens’ Smart Factory.
