SLS signs MOU to develop Silver Healthcare Service
Siemens Ltd. Seoul(SLS), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KEPCO KDN and Osong Medical Innovation Foundation on mutual cooperation for the development of a silver healthcare service, utilizing power line communication in preparation for the aging society, at Osong Medical Innovation Foundation, located in Osong, Chungbuk on December 18.
The three parties will provide silver healthcare services to the elderly who are unable to use smartphones or receive internet services due to their unfamiliarity with digital technology. SLS will develop services that analyze collated power usage patterns and bio-health data through its cloud-based open IoT operating system ‘MindSphere’. KEPCO KDN will provide its power line communication technology with wire and wireless gateway technology. Osong Medical Innovation Foundation will develop wearable devices that send silver generation’s healthcare information by monitoring physical activity or during an emergency. The main fields of cooperation include development of power line communication-based silver healthcare technology for the establishment of a social safety network, development of wearable devices, application of big data platform and development of healthcare services, field test and demonstration of silver healthcare for public services, etc.
