BT signs MOU with KEPCO on Smart Building business

Building Technologies Division(BT) of Siemens Ltd. Seoul(SLS) signed an MOU with Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO) at KEPCO Art Center on March 22 to cooperate in promoting smart building verification business between the two companies.

The MOU was signed between Mr. Frank Zimmermann, Country Division Lead of BT at SLS and Mr. JongHwan Lee, Head of Technical Innovation Division at KEPCO. The two companies have agreed to cooperate on co-conduct smart building verification business, exchange technologies following the linkage between Siemens' smart building solutions such as Navigator and Demand Flow, and K-SEM(Kepco Smart Energy Management System), as well as creating new business models on energy field.

Especially, the smart building verification business which will be executed at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology(UNIST) and Chungnam Techno Park, is a new concept of zero energy building constructing business which allows integrated building control with security, air conditioning, heating, and parking based on K-SEM. Mr. Zimmermann said “Through the MOU, Siemens will deliver new value to our customer by applying Siemens’ know-how in terms of energy solutions and create synergy effect which will enable both companies to further develop new business models.”
