The 6th Siemens Green School Olympiad

The 6th Siemens Green School Olympiad, an annual environmental-science competition for the students who have previously participated in Siemens Green School, was held on August 7 at the Global Convention Plaza of Seoul National University.

About 120 people, including 80 elementary school students, 30 university student and Siemens employee supporters participated to the Olympiad. During the morning session, which was designed to increase students' interest in environment and energy, students learned about environmental issues that the world is facing and how to build up an eco-friendly city using the educational kit ‘LEGO WeDo 2.0’ and 'LEGO WeDo coding application’.

In the afternoon program, under the theme of “Building Eco-friendly Future - Siemens Green City”, students worked in small groups and created ideas about one of the four major topics, trash, traffic, energy and construction. Students lively discussed about current environmental issues and possible solutions. Based on the discussion, students cooperated to implement their ideas using 'LEGO WeDo 2.0' kit. At the end of the Olympiad, each team made a presentation and demonstrated their own eco-friendly city with full of creative ideas.
