A global powerhouse in electrical engineering and electronics leading the age of digitalization, Siemens Ltd. Seoul (SLS) embarked on supplying Siemens’ Multi-sensor Fire Detector ‘FDOOTC441’ (Siemens FDOOTC441) to the market in earnest. The fire detector is equipped with ASA (Advanced Signal Analysis) technology that makes it highly immune to false alarms in environments with deceptive phenomena and resistant to interfering influences such as dust. It also has separate toxic carbon monoxide (CO) detection sensors.
While ‘sensitivity’ of fire detection is a crucial feature for fire detectors, increasing sensitivity has also often increased the occurrence of false alarms from interfering influences. With the innovative multi-sensor ASA technology, Siemens FDOOTC441 uses two Infrared (IR)-LED and temperature sensors to analyze signals and data real-time, and responds quickly to black smoke and fine smoke particles. It enables quick and early response by accurately detecting fire within five seconds after the first recognition of smoke, thereby killing two birds at one stone; it has both of enhanced sensitivity and lowered occurrence rate of false alarms.
The addition of the CO detection sensor provides the ability to protect people from poisonous colorless and odorless CO. Designed based on multiple estimation algorithms, Siemens FDOOTC441 is capable of accurately diagnosing complex fires by comparing six different parameter sets according to twenty six specific environments, such as kitchens, welding sites, data centers, and power plants, among others.
Siemens FDOOTC441 is certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a safety certification company of the highest authority in North America, and also acquired ULC, FM, and CSFM standard approvals. It equipped with ASA technology for the first time in Korea and acquired approvals from Korea Fire Institute (KFI) last year. SLS now will embark on its sale in earnest.

"As most of buildings today are built with synthetic materials whose raw materials include kerosene, the speed at which fire spreads has increased incredibly compared to the past. Therefore, the importance of a quick and accurate fire alarm is increasing. The installation of a fire detector is the best measure to prevent large fires and disasters from happening."
