Siemens Ltd. Seoul Presents Future Factory Innovation Solutions at Smart Factory + Automation World 2018

SLS will introduce various innovative solutions realizing the Digital Enterprise and “future factory”, through real use cases for each vertical. Through a hands-on exhibition that will allow visitors to see and feel for themselves, SLS will address the current status of the smart factory and present future directions.
Under the theme of “Digital Enterprise · Implement Now”, SLS will showcase various smart factory solutions tailored to customer needs for different verticals in manufacturing, such as the discrete industry and process industry. SLS will offer a variety of contents at the booth including joint exhibit of a Multi-carrier System co-developed with FESTO for discrete industry use case, and VR experience zones to showcase process industry use case.
Also, SLS will exhibit “MindSphere”, the cloud-based, open IoT operating system first presented at the event last year, with a larger variety of features. Since last December, Siemens has mutually integrated the latest version of MindSphere to be hosted on the cloud market No.1 AWS, thereby providing higher added-value.
“Visitors will be able to experience real use cases of the adoption of Siemens’ innovative Digital Enterprise in the discrete industry and process industry. Also, the ease of MindSphere’s connectivity with equipment, as well as the method in which it creates and analyzes data will be showcased,” said Dieter Schletterer, Vice President of Digital Factory, and Process Industries & Drives Division at SLS.
Mr. Schletterer will be delivering a keynote speech at the Smart Factory Expo on March 30, an event held in conjunction with “Smart Factory + Automation World 2018”. On the topic of “Digitalization Changes Everything”, Mr. Schletterer will present why it is now the right time to start implementing the Digital Enterprise.
Meanwhile, Minister Baek Woon-kyu from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), Minister Hong Jong-hak from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and government officials from the Innovation Growth Committee toured the exhibition and visited the booths of the five top smart factory companies including Siemens’.
The 29th AIMEX, the 7th Korea Vision Show, and the 4th Smart Factory Expo will be held simultaneously at this year’s event. About 500 companies from at home and abroad will participate. The SLS booth, the largest independent booth at over 360㎡, will be located in Hall C, #H160 on the third floor of COEX Convention Center.
