Dr. Roland Busch was awarded ‘Honorary Citizen’ by Seoul Metropolitan Government
Dr. Roland Busch, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG, was awarded Honorary Citizen by Seoul Metropolitan Government on September 29. The Honorary Citizen is awarded to foreign guests who visit the city or foreigners who have contributed meaningfully to the development of the city and quality of life of residents. In recognition of Dr. Busch’s contribution to the development of the city’s competitiveness during his visits to Korea every year since 2012, he has also played an important role as member of the ‘Seoul International Business Advisory Council(SIBAC)’.
Meanwhile in 2016, Siemens Ltd. Seoul (SLS) delivered the ‘City Performance Tool (CyPT) report for a sustainable city’ to Seoul metropolitan government. According to the report suggested by Siemens, Seoul would implement 46 infrastructure technologies, including building automation, new e-BRT and rail lines and a combined heat and power network in order to identify the most impactful emission reduction measures. Moreover, in October 2013, based on strong support from Seoul city, SLS successfully established the Asia Regional Headquarters for Energy Solutions Business covering Asia, Australia, Middle East and North Africa regions, and thus was able to expand business opportunities in the domestic market. The award is expected to further strengthen the cooperative relationship between Siemens and Seoul City.
