The 3rd funding round projects, Business Integrity Society(BIS) launching
UN Global Compact Network Korea (GCNK) and the Korea Sustainability Investing Forum (KoSIF) were selected as recipients of one of World Bank-Siemens Integrity Initiative’s Third Funding Round projects. Approximately 140 proposals from over 50 countries were submitted by local and global organizations dedicated to fight against corruption through collective action, education, and training.
The Third Funding Round foresees a funding volume of up to US$ 30 million for up to 25 projects. Together, GCNK and KoSIF will lead the anti-corruption project entitled the Business Integrity Society (BIS).
BIS was launched during the UNGC Korea Leaders Summit on October 24, 2019. Mr. ChewKong Lum, President, CEO & CFO of Siemens Ltd. Seoul, delivered a Congratulatory Remark during the Summit. The BIS will work to help Korean companies improve their competitiveness by sharing insights on key sustainability issues in the business and international community, principles of human rights, labor, environment, anti-corruption, and development goals. For three years, BIS will collaborate with various stakeholders, including: corporations, the National Assembly, the government, academia, and civil society to lead the legislation of corporate anti-corruption issues and improve policies and systems.
