Siemens supports Maysun Corporation in strengthening OT security measures for The European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance
The CRA, which has already entered into force in December 2024 and will
begin to apply to all requirements in 2027, will have a significant impact on
Japanese manufacturers operating in the EU market, as it covers all digital
products distributed in the EU market.
Maysun, which aims to further expand its paper and film processing
machine business, including slitting machines and thickness gauges, in the EU
market, has chosen Siemens as its partner for cybersecurity measures with its
comprehensive knowledge of not only IT and OT security, but also digitalization
and automation, as well as extensive experience in the EU market, to comply
with the CRA for its machinery and equipment.
As a first step, Siemens conducted an IEC62443 assessment at Maysun in
order to gain a better understanding of international cybersecurity regulations
and standards such as the CRA and IEC62443, to clarify the current level of
security measures, and to develop measures for CRA compliance together.
Since Siemens can provide both OT security know-how and the products and
solutions to implement it, Maysun was able to understand the current status of
product security levels and implement the products at the same time.
Siemens is able to provide both OT security know-how and products and
solutions to implement it, so Meisan has been able to understand the current
level of product security and implement the product at the same time.
Mr.Yoshizawa,Maysun told about Siemens' IEC62443 assessment like ;
“"Thanks to the support of OT security professionals, we have made
substantial progress in our CRA initiatives."”
The two companies will continue to further strengthen OT security for
paper and film processing machines and contribute to cybersecurity measures for
machine and equipment end users in the EU and around the world.
