Siemens starts full-scale delivery release of Simatic MultiFieldbus Interface Modules in Japan

The interface modules are for Siemens Simatic ET 200SP and Simatic PN/MF Coupler respectively. The two new products enable different controllers o communication on the same network via three fieldbus protocols which are PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP.
The Interface Module for Simatic ET200SP contribute savings in costs and planning efforts when designing machines and plants as well as standardization of hardware configuration, since the same Input/Output configuration can be used independently of the overarching controller. It is not necessary to amend electrical circuit diagrams.
Additionally Simatic ET 200SP Interface Module is suitable for the customers who, due to end user preference, occasionally use other Ethernet-based I/O systems in addition to PROFINET, acquire energy data via Modbus TCP, customer segments which until now exclusively use Modbus TCP or EtherNet/IP controllers.
SIMATIC PN/MF Coupler makes it easy to configure deterministic data exchange, even across different fieldbus protocols, between Simatic and 3rd party controllers and enables simple integration of Simatic controls into existing machines and plants. Users can connect an EtherNet/IP network to a PROFINET subnet or connect two PROFINET subnets with each other. To do this, users use the data via input or output address ranges which can be subdivided and coupled. It offers simple configuration using I/O data modules, regardless of whether via PROFINET or EtherNet/IP protocol, two-way communication, almost delay-free coupling of data between the subnets and thus deterministic data exchange, complete network separation for no influence on neighboring subnet through fault states and redundant power supply.
