Siemens Energy to supply steam turbine for biomass power plant in Chiba

Siemens Energy K.K. (Siemens Energy K.K., Shinagawa, Tokyo President and CEO: Yasuhiko Otsuki, hereinafter referred to as Siemens Energy) received an order from Toyo Engineering Corporation for a steam turbine and related products for a biomass power plant in Japan.
The scope of supply includes a steam turbine of 75,000 kW power output, generator and turbine controls. The equipment will be installed at biomass power plant of Ichihara Yawatafuto Biomass Power Godo Kaisha in Ichihara-shi, Chiba, Japan. The commercial operation of the plant is planned for 2024.
Biomass plants gain importance in Japan while promotional measures are undertaken to further accelerate the introduction and expansion of renewable energy to realize low carbon society. Siemens Energy positions steam turbine for biomass plant as one of the energy business strategies in Japan and attempts to expand the sales.
