Siemens Limited has strengthened its Oil and Gas solutions portfolio with the setting up of the Global Engineering Center (GEC) in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The GEC will support Siemens’ Oil and Gas customers worldwide and strengthen Siemens’ capability to deliver high-quality, end-to-end solutions across disciplines such as structural, civil, mechanical, electrical packages, 3D modeling and telecommunications.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. A.K Dixit, CEO – Energy Sector, South Asia Cluster, Siemens Ltd., said “This GEC will provide a competitive advantage to our Oil and Gas Solutions business and ensure our customers are cost-competitive. It is yet another proof of our technical competence in executing oil and gas projects to customers and consultants worldwide.”
He further added, “The GEC would act as a repository of know-how and ex-perience. It is a natural progression of the centers for Oil and Gas Solutions business already set up in India - at Mumbai and Vadodara - to provide engi-neering support for automation and electrical tasks.”
