Siemens highlights technologies for multilayered, distribut-ed energy infrastructure at Distribuelec 2019

Siemens India has recognized the growing need for utilities, industries and buildings to be customer-centric, and has been bringing to market solutions that help them redefine their business processes in the changing energy landscape. Digitalization has become the key enabler to create additional value in the fast-changing energy system that is driven by decentralization, decarbonization, and the proliferation of the Internet of Things. Siemens solutions for the increasingly multi-layered, distributed energy infrastructure combine an agile mindset plus connected solutions for electrification, automation, and digitalization.
Siemens is showcasing these technologies at Distribuelec 2019. Among the world-class, cutting-edge solutions being showcased are energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly building and infrastructure technologies, medium voltage and systems, and digital grids.

Siemens common Remote Service Platform (cRSP): The Siemens common Remote Service Platform (cRSP) is the IT platform used throughout the group for implementing remote access to IP-based equipment. Remote service provides additional support to optimally service your fire safety, security and building automation systems in the face of growing complexity. It helps in everything from operational assistance to remote diagnosis, remote repair, maintenance support as well as performance monitoring.
Siemens Navigator: Siemens Navigator is a single, integrated Cloud based energy and sustainability management platform. Navigator provides powerful analytical and reporting capabilities. It gives you visibility into the long-term performance of your facilities and infrastructure.
Siemens Fusesaver and Remote-Control Unit 3AD8: Siemens Fusesaver the world’s fastest medium-voltage outdoor vacuum circuit-breaker, is the most cost-effective solution for optimizing reliability while minimizing operating costs of rural overhead MV networks. It is capable of almost completely removing the impacts of temporary faults on lateral lines. It is an electrically floating device that hangs directly from the MV line. With no earth connection, it has no electrical stresses on its insulators, resulting in long life.
Sinacon Photovoltaic Central Inverter: The SINACON PV inverter is part of the Siemens new electrical Balance of Plant (eBoP) solution for PV power plant installations. It is used in medium and large utility scale photovoltaic power plants to achieve high efficiency. It is specially designed for harsh environments with an innovative cooling system.
Digital Grid IoT: Grid Diagnostic Suite: “SIPROTEC Dashboard” is an application that allows transparent processing of grid data in the cloud. It provides information from the SIPROTEC devices in a map view on a smartphone or tablet computer (iOS or Android) with notification function. This enables grid operators to analyze status and condition messages, protection trips, and safety or security events, and to optimize maintenance activities.
Substation Device Management (SDM): Substation Device Management significantly reduces time needed to document firmware or software changes and to identify deviations from a certain target version. It is the combined offering of “Transparency of installed base”, “Patch Management” and “Remote Support” to provide customers a complementary tool-chain and managed service for substation asset documentation and monitoring.
Spectrum Power ADMS: Siemens Spectrum Power ADMS elevates secure distribution management to the next level, ensuring that supply and control remain safely in your hands. With enhanced distribution grid analytics, secure grid operations and faster grid restoration, ADMS delivers one integrated software solution to optimize your business process and sets the benchmark with integrated Active Network Management ANM to foster renewable generation and keep the voltage within the limits.
Digital Services: Siemens Digital Services are customized for customers based on five pillars, which are, Operational Services, Retrofit, Cyber Security, Digital Services and Consultancy. The Siemens Digital Services team provides data-driven, tailored services, so that operations and maintenance teams will have the information and confidence they need to make timely, insightful decisions.

SICAM Localizer: SICAM Localizer is one of the key applications offered by “Grid Diagnostic Suite – Powered by MindSphere” focusing on distribution automation. It primarily focuses on overhead lines and provides fault management services such as grid fault detection and notification. It detects faults & devices status update via google maps, generates fault and status reports from the analysis and manages distribution & performance of grids.

Power Technologies International: Digital Twin: The Siemens Electrical Digital Twin closely aligns real and virtual worlds by providing utilities with a single source of truth to model data across their IT landscape. The common network model facilitates grid simulation across all domains relevant for reliable, efficient and secure electrical system planning, operation and maintenance. This solution is vendor-neutral, highly customizable to specific needs.
Siemens’ EnergyIP Energy Efficiency Analytics (EEA): Siemens’ Energy Efficiency Analytics (EEA) is a cloud-based solution for big data collection, processing, and analytics. Reduce CO2 emissions, boost operations, and strategically approach complex tariffs – regardless of industry. It offers a comprehensive set of powerful applications based on an energy industry data model which delivers full support of domain-specific processes and complex use cases viable far into the future.
Powerline Carrier: PowerLink uses the high-voltage line between transformer substations as a communications path for data, protection signals and voice. This technology, which has been tried and tested over decades and adapted to the latest standards. It provides the highest communications standards for power network protection. With its ability to switch from analog to digital transmission, it can work with both transmission modes at the same time.
Power Quality Analysis: SICAM PQ Analyzer: The SICAM PQ Analyzer provides comprehensive evaluation options for archived PQ measuring data and fault records. In addition to clearly structured fault record analysis, the fault locator facilitates and accelerates the elimination of faults in the power network.
Meter Data Management: Siemens EnergyIP Meter Data Management (MDM) application manages electricity, gas and water consumption. Proven in the field and trusted by the industry, Siemens MDM enables advanced metering process automation and provides billing-ready data to any utility’s other business applications. It gets the most out of smart metering investing using existing & emerging use cases while ensuring regulatory compliance.
E–CAR Operation Center: Siemens E-CAR Operation Centre is an E-Mobility infrastructure management solution. It is cloud-based as well as on-premise platform, for monitoring & control of charging stations. It manages the charging infrastructure and provides data to external system to be used for further billing & invoicing to final customers. It also acquires and analyzes diagnostic data of the charging units and monitors the whole system remotely.
RUGGEDCOM: RUGGEDCOM helps customer reduce the CAPEX as well as OPEX as the amount of copper wiring being consumed gets replace by pair of fibers. This also helps our customer in providing a safe environment to their employees working in the substations as the high voltage & current carrying copper cables gets replace by fiber which carries the information digitally.
