Siemens Advanced Motor Test Centre receives NABL accreditation

Siemens Limited announced that its state-of-the art Advanced Motor Test Centre (AMTC)
at Kalwa Works, Mumbai, received the prestigious accreditation from the National
Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), Government of
India. The accreditation is the first of its kind in India for Industrial Motor manufacturers.

Siemens AMTC received the accreditation based on criteria meeting international
standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 ‘General requirements of the testing and calibration
laboratories’. The requirements include enhanced confidence in testing methods, results
and performance of personnel, enhanced confidence in Test Reports issued by AMTC,
Better control of AMTC operations and periodic feedback from NABL Auditors to AMTC
regarding Quality Assurance System and technical competency.

Equipped with 8 fully-automated test benches for testing motors in a wide range, AMTC is
the first lab in India to be accredited by NABL. Operational since November 2013, it meets
the new Standard (IEC 60034-2-1) for test methods for efficiency calculation.

After this accreditation, customers can search and choose the required testing facilities
provided by AMTC on the NABL web-site or Directory of Accredited Laboratories.
Additionally, it also transforms AMTC Test to a neutral motor testing lab, thus enhancing
customer confidence.​
