The pilot entry of Zero Energy

Siemens recently
welcomed ZEB SA as a partner for energy efficiency solutions supply for
buildings and plants, having followed a very demanding process, with specific
criteria and obligations, that ensure and secure quality and efficiency of
services, with long lasting value for both parties and end customers.
ZEB S.A. is an Athens based
company, offering energy saving services since 2012. It’s one of the first Energy
Services’ Company in the country and through its services, supports the largest
Energy Performance Contract of one of the four systemic banks in Greece. One of
ZEB’s aims is to enrich its clientele with similar contracts, both in the country
and abroad.
Siemens is ZEB’s
digital partner of choice, as the only company that can help them meet their
customer needs for energy efficiency in the new digital era.
ZEB’s aim has always been to partner with Siemens, for three main reasons:
Siemens has been a pioneer in Energy Performance Contracting for decades; for its
wide range of solutions and products, covering all customer needs regarding
energy efficiency and sustainability, as well as for its Navigator offering,
which is a cloud-based energy and asset management platform based on cloud, with
analytical and reporting capabilities.
“This partnership is
an honor for us, as, with Siemens’ guidance we can acquire further know-how,
and implement more easily energy performance contracting with a wide range of
customers, which includes of course the banking sector”, said Aris Papadopoulos,
ZEB’s CEO. “Energy efficiency solutions require both high technological
expertise and high credibility in prediction and thus our customer proposals
need the signature and accreditation of a well-established organization, like
Siemens”, he added.
Another critical factor in selecting Siemens as a technology provider, was the Advance Service Center’s (ASC) support center of Navigator operating from Austria, as well as the local support on technical and sales issues. Navigator is also connected to the client’s Building Management System, independently to the latter’s components and operates on all sources, even if they are not part of Siemens’ hardware or software. All these factors create a safety net and empower trust in this strategic partnership for the end customer.
This partnership
offers a combination of services that is much more than software and about a
range of solutions that the client expects to have. Siemens offers- apart from
energy management solutions- optimization services, providing access to
equipment as well as software, which are equally important to buildings. Data
analytics, data management, digitalization, IoT and artificial intelligence are
the catalysts for the future of buildings’ energy management, given the fact
that the latter enables predicted analysis for the savings required.
Digitalization is the foundation for energy efficiency measures in buildings
and enables optimization of energy consumption, reduction of CO2 emissions, and
certainly of costs.
The role of ZEB SA in
the Energy Performance Contract involves planning, proposing, performing the
designs and managing the energy efficiency interventions as well as measurement
and verification of achieved energy savings and relevant project reporting and
monitoring for all customer’s buildings and branches across Greece.
The pilot project
comes to reinforce ZEB S.A.’s work on the Energy Performance Contract. The KPIs
of the project call for precision, accuracy and digital and hardware solutions
that meet the predefined energy and cost savings. At the same time, this
project prepares the ground for future customer needs, with the continuous use
of data analytics across all stages of the project.
“We are very
optimistic because we are already way ahead of the needs of our customers. We
regard ourselves as pioneers on this sector, as we offer digital services to
large organizations and show the benefits they can get out of this. Building
services are digital services and Siemens is our digital partner of choice”,
Mr. Papadopoulos concluded.
