Siemens S.A. Industry Division presented its new safety
solutions for industrial environments, at the “Safety Truck on Tour” Roadshow, which
was recently held in major cities throughout Greece.
The Safety Truck visited 15 leading industries across
Greece - in Athens, Corinth, Patras, Thessaloniki etc., where specialized
trainings were conducted through Siemens' truck-based functional applications.
These are industries from Food & Beverage sector, Machinery Manufacturers
(OEM), and Siemens’s S.A Solution Partners.
Safety Truck’s applications are simulations of real
industrial lines and set the minimum requirements for the safety of the
industrial environment, as well as of the users of individual machines.
During training,
examples of machine-related hazards were given, where, through Siemens
solutions, the required levels of reliability for user’s safety were set. The
process of implementing security applications, from the risk assessment phase
to the selection of the appropriate materials, as well as the architecture and set-to-operation
of the security control systems were also presented.
The ten-day
Siemens’s Safety Truck roadshow in Greece was completed with a workshop
organized at the company's premises in Thessaloniki, with the presence of more
than 80 of the company’s customers. The workshop included a presentation of the
European legal framework and of the safety issues, which are related to the use
of machinery in industry.
The company’s specialized engineers also presented
Siemens’ software, Safety Evaluation Tool, through which the study of the legislation
is being implemented, of the risk assessment and of the definition of reliability
levels for the security control system, so that the user can easily and quickly
choose the right materials for the implementation of his application.
