At the center of the collaboration is Siemens’ unique, semiconductor-based SENTRON ECPD (Electronic Circuit Protection Device) technology. In combination with other devices of the SENTRON product family, it forms the heart of the BGF45's electrification system. The SENTRON ECPD is one of the world’s most innovative circuit protection devices and is designed to ensure maximum safety and reliability thanks to its advanced electronic architecture.
Installed in the onboard electrical panels, SENTRON ECPD enables intelligent management of energy flows through integrated monitoring functions, contributing to the yacht's overall efficiency. At the same time, its ultra-fast response in the event of a fault minimizes anomalies, reducing maintenance costs, and ensuring operational continuity and comfort in all sailing conditions.
Another strength of SENTRON ECPD is its extraordinary versatility. Siemens' technology intelligently adapts to the specific needs of the vessel, adjusting configurations and responses based on the different electrical loads and the varying degrees of customization required.
“With our groundbreaking SENTRON ECPD we provide industry-leading technology to contribute to the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and sustainability, even on the world´s oceans,” said Andreas Matthé, CEO Electrical Products at Siemens Smart Infrastructure.

The collaboration between Siemens and Bluegame is not only distinguished by technological innovation, but also by its focus on sustainability. Bluegame is committed to a comprehensive sustainability strategy encompassing environmental, social, and economic pillars, while actively contributing to the UN's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals throughout its daily operations. SENTRON ECPD is a perfect fit, being among the first Siemens products to earn the Siemens EcoTech label, a certification that introduces new standards of transparency in the industry and demonstrates the company's commitment to developing environmentally low-impact solutions. Thanks to its multifunctionality, the Siemens solution replaces numerous conventional devices with a single device, requiring approximately 85 percent less space in the electrical distribution board. Depending on the application, the SENTRON ECPD enables savings of up to 80 percent on electronics, 90 percent on metals, and 90 percent on plastics.
