At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG approved the establishment of a compensation committee. Regulatory and legal requirements and the importance of compensation-related topics in the company's dialogue with society were the backdrop for this step.
The new Compensation Committee will comprise the members of the Chairman's Committee of the Supervisory Board, Werner Wenning (an additional shareholder representative) and Birgit Steinborn (an additional employee representative).
At its constitutive meeting today, the Compensation Committee elected Werner Wenning to serve as chairman.
The Compensation Committee will deal with the compensation system and its further development as well as with the amount and appropriateness of Managing Board compensation. The committee will also advise the Supervisory Board on its decision-making in compensation-related matters.
