Siemens presents innovative and sustainable building technology at MCE
2024
Siemens provides sustainable heating, cooling and ventilation solutions and thus, supports partners and customers in the decarbonization of buildings
One of the highlights will include an energy efficient magnetic expansion valve, with which OEMs can gain up to 21% more heating capacity
Also being showcased is a heat pump automation system as part of Siemens Xcelerator
At this year's Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) trade show, Siemens Smart Infrastructure will present a broad range of innovative and sustainable products, systems, and solutions for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and installers to accelerate the decarbonization of real-estate. The global marketplace and event, that takes place from March 12 to 15 in Milan, Italy, brings together companies and industry experts from the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR), renewable energy sources and energy efficiency fields.

Siemens presents innovative and sustainable building technology at MCE 2024
Highly
efficient chillers and heat pumps with magnetic expansion valve
One of the highlights will be the fast MVL702 magnetic expansion valve. The product, which has been designed specifically for refrigeration cycle processes in heat pump and chiller applications, is easy to integrate into any existing automation system and saves development and testing costs.
Its instant and precise response ensures system stability for commercial heat pumps and chillers as well as high energy efficiency, with an annual energy saving potential of up to 14 percent for end customers. Compared to a stepper motor technology,OEMs can gain up to 21 percent more heating capacity when implementing the valve into their existing heat pumps. With the integration of the MVL702, the heat pump continues to provide the same heating output, while consuming less energy and therefore delivering cost savings and improving sustainable operations. In addition, the valve closes automatically in case of power failure or cable disconnection, offering additional safety in chiller and heat pump applications.
Efficient heat pump automation for
residential buildings
The Climatix system is part of the open digital business platform Siemens Xcelerator, which enables customers to accelerate their digital transformation easier, faster and at scale. The product allows OEMs in the HVACR sector to design, control, install, maintain, and innovate their offering in an efficient, open and sustainable way, while enabling Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings. With the new Climatix S400 controller, Siemens provides equipment automation – specifically for residential HVACR applications, such as heat pumps and heat recovery ventilation. Its use favors the shift towards energy efficiency and decarbonization as due to its modularity, it can be employed in innovative and scalable heat pump applications. In addition, the controllers’ native cloud connectivity ensures remote access, which provides full transparency to OEMs and installers and allows fast, cost-efficient and sustainable reactions.
“We are very excited to again be present at this year’s MCE in Milan. As buildings account for 40 percent of global energy consumption, taking action in terms of energy efficiency has never been more urgent. True to Mostra’s focus topic for 2024 ‘transform today, to create a sustainable tomorrow’ we will showcase innovative and sustainable technology that helps our customers to accelerate delivery against their sustainability targets,” said Henning Sandfort, CEO of Building Products at Siemens Smart Infrastructure.
In addition to the highlights above, Siemens will present an HVACR plug-and-play solution to decrease heating and cooling costs in small- and mid-sized buildings, as well as further building automation solutions, which address leading CO2 reduction challenges. Applications range from chillers, heat pumps and turnkey solutions for OEMs to state-of-the-art communication and cloud technologies. The Siemens booth U01 can be visited in Hall 5.
