"There is significant potential in the distributed energy market, both in Brazil and globally. Today, industrial companies have new opportunities to take control of their energy costs, security of supply, and reduction of CO2 emissions with local energy solutions. In addition, by utilizing digital and customized services, we can help to leverage the full potential of these systems," says John Kovach, Global Head Distributed Energy Systems, Siemens Energy Management division.
The Siemens solutions have been developed in the smart grid environment. They use digitalization to make local energy systems more efficient, reliable, and sustainable. Brazil is now able to further advance in this area, preventing failures in the calculation of energy consumption and avoiding extra personnel costs, by utilizing remote predictive and preventive maintenance offerings. As an example in this context, these solutions allow for a very accurate net metering process. According to recent Brazilian ANEEL (Electricity Regulation Agency) regulations, excess electricity generated can be used as credits, which can then be used on subsequent energy bills.
Siemens helps customers across all businesses and industrial sectors in realizing individual energy supply systems. The services include design, installation and operation of distributed energy systems based on renewable energy, as well as digital solutions and consulting for intelligent energy management. Thus, energy costs, security of supply and carbon reduction become long-term calculable variables in the business process of each energy consumer.
