More than 20,000 shareholders had ordered tickets for the event, and nearly 60,000 had authorized a proxy to exercise their voting rights. On the day of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting, the number of people to be catered for equaled the population of a small town. Nevertheless, nothing was lacking in the Olympiahalle. About 40,000 sweet and savory snacks and pastries were available as light refreshments, while roughly 1.8 tons of meat patties, original Munich Leberkäse and sausages provided more substantial fare. Rounding off the culinary offerings were some 8,500 pieces of fruit and an equal number of servings of ice cream. More than 10,000 liters of soft drinks were available to quench shareholders’ thirst. A staff of nearly 1,000 ensured that the event proceeded smoothly in every respect.
