Siemens’ Annual Shareholders’ Meeting attracts 8,000 shareholders

More than 20,000 shareholders had ordered tickets for the event, and nearly 60,000 had authorized a proxy to exercise their voting rights. Many followed the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting or transferred their voting rights on their PC in the convenience of their own home. More than 7,000 shareholders had ordered tickets on the Internet, while nearly 13,000 had appointed a proxy online.
On the day of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting, the number of people to be catered for equaled the population of a small town. Nevertheless, nothing was lacking in the Olympiahalle. About 40,000 sweet and savory snacks and pastries were available as light refreshments, while roughly 1.8 tons of meat patties, original Munich Leberkäse and sausages provided more substantial fare. Rounding off the culinary offerings were some 8,500 pieces of fruit and an equal number of servings of ice cream. More than 10,000 liters of soft drinks were available to quench shareholders’ thirst. A staff of nearly 1,000 ensured that the event proceeded smoothly in every respect.
