New charging unit for cost-optimized charging of electric vehicles

The picture shows the multichannel current measuring system SEM3.

This allows them to take advantage of economical electricity rates outside of peak periods and to significantly lower electricity costs. Owners of electric vehicles can also make targeted use of own generated energy, e.g. from solar panels, thus optimizing their power consumption. VersiCharge is suitable for use in a private and semi-private environment, such as in garages, carports, and on hotel and company parking lots. It is simply mounted on the wall and is dimensioned for a power supply of 230 volts (V).
The VersiCharge is available in a single-phase version for rated currents of 20 amps (A) and 32 A, as well as in a three-phase version for a rated current of 32 A. The single-phase 32 A charging unit already contains integrated DC residual current detection for 6 mA. Depending upon the version, the charging power varies between 4.6 kilowatts (kW), 7.2 kW and 22 kW. For an average passenger car, the charging time for power of 22 kW is roughly 4 hours. The charging status is indicated by means of an LED. Via an external RFID reader, the charging process can be initiated, canceled or paused at any time.
