Effective May 1, 2021, Dr. Xiao Song has
been appointed the new Chairman, President and CEO of Siemens China,
succeeding Lothar Herrmann, whose delegation is ending after more than seven
years at the company’s helm. As CEO, Dr. Xiao Song will assume all his predecessor’s responsibilities.

Effective May 1, 2021, Dr. Xiao Song has
been appointed the new Chairman, President and CEO of Siemens China,
succeeding Lothar Herrmann, whose delegation is ending after more than seven
years at the company’s helm. As CEO, Dr. Xiao Song will assume all his predecessor’s responsibilities.
“Together with a strong team, Lothar Herrmann has successfully grown Siemens’ business in China and strengthened our reputation as a reliable partner that has contributed to the country’s economic, manufacturing, and technological development. We are deeply grateful to Lothar for his many years of dedication to our business in China,” said Dr. Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG.

With his extensive international, management, cross-industry and entrepreneurial experience, Xiao Song is the perfect choice for this role. Under his leadership, Siemens will further empower Chinese customers to accelerate their digital transformation as China enters a new era of development,” Dr. Busch continued.
Lothar Herrmann has been President and CEO of Siemens Greater China, and Chairman, President and CEO of Siemens Ltd., China, since November 2013. During his tenure, he not only drove business success, but also served as a trusted adviser to the mayors of several major Chinese cities, as a member of the Board of Trustees of Tongji University of Shanghai and as Chairman of the German Chamber of Commerce North China. He was also appointed as Advisory Professor of Tsinghua University and honored with the White Magnolia Award by the Shanghai Municipal Government.
Dr. Xiao Song previously worked for Siemens from 2005 to 2016, orchestrating the former automotive business, city and infrastructure portfolio, including mobility, logistics, low and mid-voltage, smart grid and building technology. Most recently, he served as Managing Director at Winkelmann Group and executive director of different industry companies and innovation startups. He has more than 25 years of management experience in leading positions in Asia, Europe, South America and China, as well as a profound understanding of the local market.
