Changes at Siemens' Press Office

Mr. Zimmermann joins Siemens from thyssenkrupp AG in Essen, Germany, where he has held the position of Head of External Communications und Group Spokesperson since 2013 and has been responsible, among other things, for the corporate press office, online communications and corporate publishing. Mr. Zimmerman was previously Deputy Head of Corporate Communications at TUI AG and Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Antenne Niedersachsen GmbH in Hanover, Germany. Mr. Zimmermann has many years of experience in the area of external stakeholder communications, including strategic and financial communications.
There will also be a change in the leadership of the Financial and Corporate Media Department: Philipp Encz (43) will succeed Alexander Becker (38) as department head, effective July 1, 2017. Mr. Encz began his communications career at the news and media company Bloomberg L.P. in New York. Following postings to London and Frankfurt, he joined Siemens in Munich as a press officer for financial and corporate topics in 2011. In his new position, he will report to Robin Zimmermann.
Mr. Becker has been appointed to a new role in the area of media relations for Siemens communications in the U.S., effective August 1, 2017. In this role, he will primarily be responsible for positioning the topics of digitalization and MindSphere.
Oliver Santen (48), currently head of Public Relations, is also leaving the company, effective August 1, 2017. Mr. Santen was appointed head of Siemens' global press office in 2011. He developed the new Public Relations Department after his appointment as its head in 2013.
