Siemens Celebrates 125 Years of Partnership and Innovation in Egypt

“Siemens and Egypt have a long term partnership that spans more than a century, built on trust, innovation, and a shared vision for the future,” said Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG. “As we celebrate 125 years, we are proud to stand alongside Egypt, delivering technologies that empower communities, strengthen industries, and support the country’s vision for a sustainable, resilient future.”
Since the installation of Egypt’s first telegraph line in 1859, Siemens has played a pivotal role in the nation’s technological evolution. The company has delivered landmark projects that have powered industries, modernized transportation, and consistently integrated new digital capabilities.
Today, Siemens is instrumental in the implementation of Egypt’s ambitious Vision 2030. The legacy Mega Power Plants project impressively added 14.4 gigawatts (GW) of capacity in a remarkably short period, significantly enhancing energy security and efficiency. Furthermore, Egypt’s first high-speed rail network, a 2,000-kilometer system, will connect major cities and serve nearly 90 percent of the population, embodying smart and sustainable mobility. Beyond these monumental projects, Siemens is enabling smart infrastructure and advanced Industry 4.0 solutions that empower Egyptian businesses with cutting-edge automation, data-driven manufacturing, and sustainable, energy-efficient practices.
Siemens operates in Egypt through three highly specialized companies, each contributing to the nation's digital and sustainable transformation:
  • Siemens Industrial drives innovation in electrification, automation, and advanced digitalization, supporting industries with technologies that enhance productivity and energy efficiency.
  • Siemens Mobility focuses on intelligent transportation solutions, including the high-speed rail network and the modernization of existing rail infrastructure, emphasizing efficiency and connectivity.
  • Siemens Digital Industries Software serves as a global innovation hub in Egypt, providing advanced electronic design automation and digital transformation solutions through its research and development center and the comprehensive Siemens Xcelerator platform.
