Four Vectron locomotives for Slovenia

Siemens Mobility has signed a contract with Slovenian Railways to supply four interoperable Vectron electric locomotives for pulling international passenger trains – the first Vectron locomotives to join the Slovenian national passenger fleet.
The new locomotives, scheduled for delivery in 2027, will operate on international passenger routes, ensuring smooth cross-border travel and greater sustainability. The locomotives will be equipped with the latest ETCS safety system and will be able to operate in eight countries (Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Italy, up to Trieste) without the need for changes at border stations. Their maximum speed will be 200 kilometers per hour, enabling faster and more efficient connections between countries.
This milestone represents the next step in the 25-year partnership between Siemens Mobility and Slovenian Railways, which supports the modernization of the Slovenian rolling stock.
