The federal state of Baden-Württemberg has announced major efforts to expand their railway transportation as part of the ‘
Digital Rail for Germany’ program, aiming to double passenger numbers by 2030. How to drive further sustainable mobility through digital
innovations is the central question of Winfried Hermann’s (Minister of
transport Baden-Württemberg) visit to the production plant in Berlin
Kiefholzstraße. Siemens Mobility is sharing insights into their state-of-the-art
digital technologies and engineering tools (e.g. ATO over ETCS and ETCS fleet
retrofit using augmented reality) to deliver the capacity boost, performance
increase and energy efficiency for the upcoming ETCS rollout in Germany. Successful projects like the
Digital S-Bahn Hamburg demonstrate the professional implementation
with regard to defined time schedules and highest quality standards.
