Schnelle Energie für dringenden Strombedarf – neue 44-Megawatt-Gasturbine zur mobilen Stromerzeugung
In many areas of the world, existing power infrastructure is stretched to the limit by growing demand for electricity. Reliable power supply systems are a major enabler of economic development, yet needs are growing at a pace faster than the ability to erect conventional power plants. The task at hand in these regions is to deploy efficient mobile power generating capacity quickly to fuel economic development. In some cases the need is temporary, and after some time the mobile power plant might be relocated to a different location to perform a similar duty.

Siemens has now specially developed its SGT-A45 TR gas turbine for this rapidly growing market – a new aero-derivative gas turbine integrated into a mobile unit that delivers an electrical output of up to 44 megawatts, can be installed and commissioned in less than two weeks and begin generating electricity immediately. This light-weight gas turbine offers outstanding power density, high fuel efficiency and good operational flexibility, making it an ideal choice for customers who urgently need power and regions with less developed infrastructures.

A dependable power supply

The new mobile solution featuring Siemens' SGT-A45 TR gas turbine is an ideal choice for customers with urgent power needs in regions with underdeveloped infrastructure. This new gas turbine model is an advanced aeroderivative development based on proven technology from Siemens and Rolls Royce Aero-Engine. The core engine is derived from components of Siemens' Industrial Trent 60 that have been adapted to the proven free power turbine. It utilizes component designs with millions of operating hours accumulated in flight as well as industrial and marine service.

Fast power installed within a mere two weeks

Each mobile unit is pre-assembled at the manufacturing plant and mounted on trailers designed for transport by air, land or sea. The self-contained, plug-and-play design and full factory testing reduce the installation time needed at site to only two weeks at maximum. With these features, the SGT-A45 TR mobile power plant solution can rapidly deploy and begin feeding the power grid.

Siemens' new aeroderivative Model SGT-A45 TR gas turbine

The compact SGT-A45 TR gas turbine utilizes proven aeroderivative technology to deliver excellent performance, high efficiency and operational flexibility. Based on this core engine, Siemens has developed a mobile power solution with outstanding power density to address the growing market for fast power.

Most powerful mobile unit on the market

With an electrical output of up to 44 megawatts, Siemens' Model SGT-A45 TR gas turbine delivers significantly more power than comparable models currently on the market. This means fewer gas turbine units and less capital investment are typically needed to provide the same installed capacity of flexible, rapidly deployed power.
