Dr. Gerhard Cromme, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, welcoming the shareholders to the Annual Shareholders Meeting 2017, where he said, "In fiscal 2016, Siemens AG significantly strengthened its businesses in the areas of electrification, automation and digitalization. We continued to implement our Vision 2020 strategy program rigorously and successfully.

Fiscal 2016 was one of the most successful years in Siemens' history. The very positive development of our business figures – above all, revenue and profit – was particularly gratifying".
During his speech, Joe Kaeser, President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens AG, told the shareholders, "Fiscal 2016 was a strong year: We delivered everything we promised. And even more important: We've left our competitors behind us in nearly every important parameter: in share price performance, in growth and in increasing profitability."
The Nominating Committee of the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG has recommended Jim Hagemann Snabe for the office of Supervisory Board Chairman. Siemens' Supervisory Board unanimously endorsed this recommendation at its meeting on Tuesday. The regular elections to Siemens' Supervisory Board will take place at the company's Annual Shareholders' Meeting on January 31, 2018.
