New exhibition at the Crystal - "Going underground: Our journey to the future"
A new and exciting exhibition opens its doors on 8th October 2013 in London at the Crystal. Presented by engineering experts Siemens in conjunction with London Transport Museum and media specialists CBS Outdoor UK, 'Going Underground: Our journey to the future' will showcase future developments for metro-style trains and stations. At the heart of the exhibition will be a full-size mock up of a brand new concept metro train – the Siemens Inspiro. A mix of interactive exhibits on display - housed in a temporary 'station' building - will focus on technologies to help travellers find their way more easily, electronic ticketing developments, passenger information systems and station management solutions.

Outside the doors of The Crystal at the Royal Victoria Docks in London the world renowned artist duo 3D Joe & Max used paintbrushes and chalks to bring to life the Siemens Inspiro concept for underground rail travel. It shows the Inspiro metro train from Siemens emerging from a tunnel under the streets of the British metropolis. 3D Joe & Max design their works of art with the idea of getting passersby to interact with and become part of their creation. In front of The Crystal, Siemens enabled visitors to have their picture taken balancing over a gaping hole in which the Inspiro metro train is speeding out of a tunnel in the underground system.
