Siemens partners Singapore Institute of Technology for training in Digitalization and Advanced Manufacturing
i. Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Program (SMSCP)
Two academics and/or professional officers from SIT will undergo SMSCP’s Level 3 instructor certification course in Berlin, Germany, at Siemens Technik Akademie; and thereafter, explore the implementation of the SMSCP Level 3 to complement existing modules within the relevant undergraduate and Continuing Education and Training programs.
SMSCP is a highly-effective and comprehensive training program in which students learn about the complexities of the mechatronic system in a holistic fashion, as opposed to traditional methods of teaching in which students learn about electrical, mechanical and computer technologies separately from one another.
Siemens will grant 70 licensed software and maintenance to SIT. The software will be used for training in relevant engineering degree programs such as Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering and Systems Engineering, to expose the students to the concept of Advanced Manufacturing, and to provide them with real-world experience by employing the same software and technology used by leading manufacturers.
- NX™ Software - an integrated product design solution;
- Tecnomatix® – a digital manufacturing solution that synchronizes product engineering, manufacturing engineering and production;
- LMS™ – a simulation software for model-based systems engineering
