Siemens supports Istituto Superiore di Sanità in the fight against Covid-19

"We are proud to have supported an important project such as the multimedia Crisis Room which provides the basis for monitoring and emergency management nowadays and in the near future, and in the subsequent challenges that we will face" commented Pierfrancesco De Rossi, ad interim CEO of Siemens Spa. “We wanted to make a contribution to an initiative that could provide a concrete help within the current situation and in the future” continued the CEO.

Present in Italy since 1899, Siemens is a trusted partner of public institutions and businesses, supporting the development and modernization of industry, infrastructures, transport, energy systems and medical technology. The donation to the Istituto Superiore di Sanità went in this direction and is an expression of the ecosystem represented in Italy by Siemens Spa, Siemens Healthcare Srl and Siemens Energy Srl.
Since the beginning of the health crisis, Siemens companies in Italy have implemented measures to ensure business continuity, remaining alongside customers, continuously supporting public and private health facilities and at the same time ensuring the health and safety of their employees in all types of activities. Since 24 February 2020, all 3,000 Siemens employees, who have already been agile workers for since 2017, have also worked in full smart working; a summer campus was organized for the children of collaborators; client companies benefited from free webinars and the availability of the MindSphere operating system; health institutions were also made available of remote trainings and application specialists support accessible 7/7; Siemens' commitment to education has been strengthened thanks to the online conversion of courses for technical schools and the digital academy aimed at STEM graduates, the latter also maintaining the digital mode in the 2021 edition.
In order to supplement numerous aid programs already in place at international Siemens units, Siemens AG formed a worldwide aid fund to help relieve and combat the coronavirus pandemic. Under the auspices of the community-serving nonprofit organization Siemens Caring Hands e.V., this relief fund is to provide support, without red tape, to relief organizations and medical facilities as well as to individuals impacted by the COVID-19 crisis worldwide.
