Siemens Mobility will
deliver an additional 17 ICE 3neo trains worth around €600 million to Deutsche
Bahn (DB). The ICE 3neo fleet, based on the Velaro MS platform, will then grow
to a total of 90 trains. Deutsche Bahn first ordered 30 ICE 3neo trains from
Siemens Mobility in July 2020, and called up 43 further trains in January 2022.
With this new order, the original framework agreement for 90 trains signed in
July 2020 has been completed. The ICE 3neo trains will be manufactured at the
Siemens Mobility plant in Krefeld and delivered by August 2028. Trains that
were first ordered have been in passenger service since December 2022, after
being built in record time.

Siemens
Mobility will present solutions that “Transform urban mobility for a better
tomorrow” at the UITP Global Public Transport Summit from June 4 – 7 in
Barcelona. Included is optimized life-cycle costs of rail infrastructure and
transport, 100% system availability, maximized network capacity and optimal
customer experiences and processes. These four
technological areas – integrated into Siemens Xcelerator as an interoperable,
open, and interconnected ecosystem – will help customers provide sustainable, comfortable,
and cost-efficient rail transportation.

Siemens Mobility and FS Italiane Group, together with its subsidiary TX
Logistik AG, have signed a contract at the Transport Logistic trade fair in
Munich for the delivery of 40 Vectron locomotives. The order includes full-service
maintenance for 15 years plus an optional extension of service to the next
respective revision. The parties also agreed on an option for ordering 25
additional locomotives. The locomotives will be built at the Siemens Mobility
plant in Munich-Allach and are planned to haul freight along the Rhine-Alpine
Corridor. The total order volume is around €300 million.

Siemens Mobility, as part of
a consortium with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, received two separate orders from
Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRCL) for the Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2
and for the Surat Metro Phase 1. Both cities are in the western state of
Gujarat. Siemens Mobility’s share as part of the consortium is worth
approximately €75 million.

Siemens Mobility has been awarded a contract
by the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) to provide a signaling system
(CBTC) and full-height platform screen doors (PSD) for the Cross Island Line
(CRL). The order is worth approximately €310 million.

locomotives

the Öresund Bridge
The Vectron has
received official approval for operating along the Scandinavian Corridor
(AT-DE-DK-SE-NO). This enables both freight and passenger trains to run along
the entire corridor without changing locomotives. The first to take advantage of
this is the Swedish rail operator Snälltåget, which has leased three Vectron
locomotives from European Locomotive Leasing (ELL) for cross-border passenger
service in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Austria. The Vectron, manufactured in
the Siemens Mobility plant in Munich-Allach, is the first locomotive equipped
with the ETCS train control system that is allowed to operate across the 16-kilometer
long Öresund connection (bridge and tunnel) between Sweden and Denmark. The locomotive
uses the globally proven Trainguard 100/200/300 ETCS on-board unit from Siemens.

Siemens
Mobility is expanding its manufacturing and services facility in Munich-Allach
in order to meet the growing demand for locomotives and services. The factory
will be enlarged to 80,000 m2 from its current 50,000 m2
to provide additional capacities for processing new orders, optimizing
production and logistics flows within the facility, and add more office space.

Siemens
Mobility Austria GmbH has received an order from ÖBB for additional 27 Siemens
Desiro ML electric trainsets. With this order, ÖBB is continuing to renew its
fleet and investing in modern trains for inner-Alpine transport. ÖBB previously
ordered 246 Desiro ML trainsets and over 200 of them are already in service
throughout Austria.

A new, leading
motors and large drives company will be called Innomotics. Under this name,
Siemens is combining its business activities in the areas of low- to
high-voltage motors, geared motors, medium-voltage converters and motor
spindles. The portfolio includes an innovative solutions and digitalization
portfolio and a broad range of service offerings. The related businesses were
previously assigned to the units Large Drives Applications and Digital
Industries and to the legally separate Siemens companies Sykatec and Weiss
Spindeltechnologie.

Siemens Mobility has been selected by Ontario’s
local public operator Metrolinx to provide track, signal, and right-of-way
maintenance services for the agency’s railway infrastructure system that makes
up the West Region of Toronto. The contract includes service for three years
with an additional two-year option. Siemens Mobility’s suite of digital tools
and software will complement the knowledge and expertise their teams possess
with the
intelligent use of rail data to provide Metrolinx with
superior service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
