The high image resolution means that the new optical reader is extremely good at reading particularly small codes in large image areas or for a large amount of codes on big objects. Due to the high resolution and the large working memory, completely new applications can now be accommodated, even on production lines running at high speed, and large numbers of images can be stored directly on the reader. The Simatic MV560 now includes a scan mode for separating image acquisition and image processing. A series of images is stored directly on the reader. On their basis secure reading of rapidly moving objects is also possible. The additional Gigabit Ethernet interface can be used for diagnostics and service purposes. Thus, images that are recorded in applications with very high read rates can be forwarded to an IT server and archived. The interface can also be used for service and maintenance. In addition, a network separation is possible, enabling simultaneous, fault-free communication from the camera to the controller, and from the camera to the server.
