Growth for the all-round power supply – Siemens extends its portfolio of power supply units to include 3-phase devices

New Sitop PSU6200 3-phase power supplies have a very slim design and feature a diagnostics interface for efficient condition monitoring in the PLC.

The new power supply units in the Sitop PSU6200 series supply a rated output current of 5, 10 or 20 amperes (A), extending the previous scope of application on one phase to include applications on 400-voltthree-phase grids. The robust input means that permanent operation is also supported on just two phases. In addition, the active Power Factor Correction (PFC) keeps the reactive current component to a minimum. The 3-phase power supplies feature a high degree of efficiency of up to 95 percent and support easy installation with their slim metal housing and push-in terminals.
Reliable operation is ensured by the high overload capacity of the robust units, which feature constant current behavior to maintain the output voltage for as long as possible, supplying 20 percent over their rated current even at ambient temperatures up to 45° Celsius. With their extra power reserve, they can also supply a 50 percent higher rated current in the event of an overload for up to five seconds.

Comprehensive and efficient diagnostics

The new Sitop PSU6200 power supply units over 10 amperes have a diagnostics interface for detailed status monitoring of the 24-voltsupply. Voltage, current, utilization, temperature and device settings can be monitored. The signal is simply transmitted via a digital input on a PLC (programmable logic controller). Free function blocks for Simatic controller S7-1200 and S7-1500 evaluate the serial code, while faceplates make visualization easy in the WinCC process visualization system.
